DEVELOPMENT CENTERS — AN ENVIRONMENT FOR DEVELOPING THE PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE OF FUTURE TEACHERS
20 October 2026
Development centers in preschool educational organizations serve as an important learning environment that supports the organization of educational and upbringing processes while taking into account children's interests, needs, and individual abilities. These centers provide opportunities for children to engage in independent activities, learn through play, explore, conduct experiments, communicate, and express their creative abilities.
During the practical session, students used practical examples to demonstrate the importance of considering children's age-related characteristics, learning needs, and independent engagement when planning activities in development centers.
The open lesson, organized with the participation of students, was conducted using modern pedagogical approaches, interactive methods, and creative tasks. Particular attention was paid to increasing student engagement, developing independent thinking, encouraging creative approaches, and improving the effective organization of activities in educational centers.
While completing tasks at each center, students demonstrated independent thinking and made effective use of the available resources. Their professional competence was particularly evident in selecting appropriate materials for each center, using didactic resources effectively, planning activities step by step, and approaching pedagogical situations creatively.
By using a variety of didactic materials, visual aids, and innovative methods, students demonstrated their creative abilities. Their teamwork skills, exchange of ideas, support for one another's contributions, and ability to reach shared decisions were also noteworthy.
Students actively participated not only in completing the tasks but also in justifying their ideas, proposing new solutions, and analyzing the outcomes of their activities. Such practical sessions play an important role in enhancing the professional competence of future teachers, fostering creativity and initiative, and developing the skills needed to organize the modern educational process effectively.
Development centers provide valuable opportunities for children's holistic development while also playing a significant role in improving the professional preparation of future teachers. Indeed, the competence of a modern teacher is determined not only by the ability to impart knowledge but also by the ability to create an environment in which independent, inquisitive, and creative individuals can develop and realize their potential.
