A discussion meeting was held regarding the fire incident that occurred at the Namangan State Pedagogical Institute on October 18, 2026. It was attended by the institute's management, officials from the Emergencies Department of Namangan Region, and representatives of relevant structural divisions.

Opening the meeting with an introductory speech, the rector of the institute, Bahodir Xusanov, emphasized the importance of taking the situation seriously, thoroughly investigating its causes, and taking necessary measures to prevent such emergencies in the future.

Attention was also drawn to ensuring fire safety in the educational institution, regularly monitoring the operability of existing material and technical equipment, increasing the responsibility of accountable employees, and strengthening preventive explanatory work among professors, teachers, and students.

During the meeting, Lieutenant Colonel Elyor Axmadaliyev, Head of the Emergencies Department of Namangan Region, spoke and provided detailed explanations on strictly complying with fire safety requirements, preventing emergencies, and proper action procedures in such situations.

In particular, special emphasis was placed on the use of electrical appliances, monitoring the technical condition of electrical networks, ensuring the constant readiness of primary fire-extinguishing equipment, and maintaining a non-indifferent attitude towards safety rules.

Furthermore, the importance of ensuring safe living conditions for students not only in academic buildings but also in student dormitories and rented apartments was noted. In this regard, it was emphasized that responsible employees should regularly inspect the fire safety conditions at the addresses where students reside, promptly eliminate identified shortcomings, and strengthen preventive control measures.

Additionally, Tursinali Jurayev, First Deputy Head of the Emergencies Department of Namangan Region, provided detailed explanations regarding current requirements for ensuring fire safety, mechanisms for preventing emergency situations, and the duties of responsible persons.

Specifically, attention was focused on keeping evacuation corridors in buildings constantly open and usable, checking the operability of fire warning systems and fire-extinguishing equipment, and ensuring prompt and orderly movement of staff and students in emergency situations.

During the discussion, it was specially emphasized that ensuring the safety of human life and health is a priority task, and every leader, responsible employee, professor, teacher, and student must approach this with personal responsibility.

At the end of the meeting, relevant tasks were defined to strengthen control over compliance with fire safety requirements in all academic buildings, student dormitories, and rented apartments where students reside, systematically organize preventive measures, and eliminate identified shortcomings.
