"SPIRIT OF SAMARKAND" — A BRIDGE OF TRUST BETWEEN CENTRAL ASIA AND THE US
In recent years, Uzbekistan has been pursuing a peace-loving, open, and balanced foreign policy, strengthening its position as a reliable and responsible partner in the international arena.
Consistent efforts by our state aimed at ensuring regional stability, solving global problems through dialogue and cooperation, and expanding economic ties are positively evaluated by the world community.
In particular, mutually beneficial cooperation with the United States of America has risen to a qualitatively new stage in recent years, consistently expanding in trade, economic, investment, education, and innovation fields. Thanks to the political will of the heads of the two states, Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Donald Trump, multifaceted cooperation based on open dialogue and mutual trust between Uzbekistan and the US is developing consistently and rapidly, and bilateral relations have been elevated to the level of strategic partnership.
These days, the visit of US Secretary of State Marco Rubio to Samarkand can be assessed as an important expression of Washington's growing attention to political and economic cooperation with Central Asia.
This visit is important for Uzbekistan from the point of view of enriching relations with the US with practical content, developing regional cooperation, and promoting new economic opportunities corresponding to national interests.
The main significance of the Samarkand meeting for Uzbekistan is to supplement the political dialogue with the US with economic results, activate new investment and technological cooperation opportunities, and strengthen Central Asia's position in relations with international partners.
The reached agreements and initiatives serve to attract new investments and advanced technologies to the country's economy, modernize industry, increase export potential, and develop sectors that create high added value.
At the same time, this visit further strengthened Uzbekistan's position as an active state pursuing a peace-loving and constructive foreign policy and capable of offering solutions to global problems.
