INDEPENDENCE — MEANS UNDERSTANDING OUR IDENTITY AND HAVING CONFIDENCE IN THE FUTURE
07 October 2026
While listening to and carefully reviewing the speech delivered by President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the solemn ceremony dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the state independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan, I felt that it contained not only a review of the years that have passed, but also important ideas directly related to our future.
I was particularly struck by the way the essence of independence was interpreted through the values of human dignity and a free life. After all, independence is not merely the political status of a state. It is a sense of belonging to one’s language, history, national values, and future.
The speech also highlighted the centuries-old history of our people’s statehood, our ancestors, and the aspirations of the Jadids for freedom and development. In my opinion, this once again reminds us of the responsibility placed on the shoulders of today’s generation: we must not only preserve the independence inherited by us, but also enrich its meaning and contribute to the further development of our country.
The 35th anniversary of independence is not only a celebration, but also an important occasion to look back at the path we have travelled and to understand the tasks that lie ahead. The ideas expressed in the speech of our Head of State are significant because they encourage each of us to work with even greater responsibility in our respective fields. After all, the development of New Uzbekistan begins not with grand slogans, but with the honest work, initiative, and dedication of every individual to their profession.
